Patriot Sprint Tour rolls into Outlaw Speedway this weekend for second time in 2016

By Paul T. Harkenrider (Sodus, NY) | The A-Verdi Storage Containers Patriot Sprint Tour is ready to return to Outlaw Speedway (formerly called Black Rock Speedway) this Friday, August 5 for the second time in 2016.

With the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series just ten miles down the road at Watkins Glenn International Speedway this weekend, it sets up one of the biggest racing weekends for the race fans of the entire Finger Lakes region.

The series visited the newly named Outlaw Speedway in June when it was Jared Zimbardi picking up yet another win at the ‘Fast Four Tenths Mile’ over Steve Glover and Parker Evans.

Zimbardi’s consistency has made him the point’s leader all season long since his first win of the season at Albany Saratoga Speedway back on May 27.  Zimbardi currently has earned 2063 points with four PST- American Series wins.  Paul Habeck is now second in points with 1689, followed by Dave Just who has earned 1658. Steve Glover 1598 and Dane Lorenc 1477 complete the top five in the American Series Standings.

This Friday’s race will also be the final tune up event for the first annual Outlaw Fall Nationals coming up on Friday September 23, which pays $5,000 to win, $1,000 for tenth, and $400 to take the green.

Gates for this Friday will open up at 5:00 p.m., with racing slated to start at 7:00 p.m. Cost for the grandstands is $20, $18 for seniors, and it is $35 for all ages to be admitted into the pit area.
