Patriot Sprint Tour Awards Banquet set for this Saturday

By Paul T. Harkenrider (Rochester, NY) | A lot of hardware and cash awards will be distributed this coming Saturday at the Staybridge Suites at the University of Rochester for the annual Patriot Sprint Tour awards banquet.

Bradford, Pennsylvania’s Jared Zimbardi will be crowned as the series grand champion for year 2016 scoring both the American and Canadian Series points championships. Zimbardi returned to victory lane this season at tracks including Brockville, Cornwall, Outlaw, Ohsweken, Ransomville, while scoring first career wins at the Albany Saratoga Speedway and the Woodhull Raceway. Along with Zimbardi’s success, he now moves into second all-time in PST history with 32 career wins just trailing Chuck Hebing who has 43 career wins.

Aside from Zimbardi’s success, 22 other drivers will be recognized for their great efforts throughout the seson.  This Saturday Nov. 19th we will be recognizing our top 10 Canadian Series point drivers and the top 12 for the American Series. The top three drivers from the Evingham Site Excavation Four laps of fame Dash Series, the Danny Willmes Enterprises Lap Leader, and the Patriot Tank Lines Hard Charger awards will also be handed out to the respective drivers.

Special Awards include Best Appearing Car, Patriot of the Year, Mechanic of the Year, Hard Luck of the year, Dedication to Motorsports, Sportsmanship Award, Newcomer of the Year, and the Worst Drawer of the year award.

Cocktail hour will begin at 6:00 p.m. with dinner set to start at 7:00 p.m., the awards portion of the night will follow with the night concluding entertainment provided by A and J Sounds of Newark, NY for after party dancing until midnight.
