Autodrome Granby is in full preparation
The season opener at Autodrome Granby will feature the first ever Can-Am sprint challenge. A 30 lap event for 360 sprint cars that will see the winner take home $5,000 of the $25,000 purse set for the main event.
More than 38 entries have been confirmed so far and a dozen more are expected before race day. 16 American drivers from New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Pennsylvania and Michigan will challenge 22 Canadians drivers from Québec and Ontario for the ultimate title.
Autodrome Granby has been presenting some of the best sprint car racing in the North-East since it’s opening in 1985. United Racing Club was one of the clubs visiting the site once a year. Empire super sprint have been visiting the facilities since 1985. ALLSTARS were the first ever 410 sprints to blaze Canada’s fastest dirt track oval. This year, the local fans will see the World of Outlaws sprints for the very first time.
No less than five different sanctions will be represented during the Can-Am sprint challenge, Empire Super sprints and Patriots sprint tour from N.Y. state will be on hand, Sprint cars of New England from New Hampshire will also be represented and they will challenge teams from The Corr-Pak sprints of Ohsweken speedway in Ontario and the Southern Ontario sprints.
May 11 and 12 is the date for this $5,000 to win and $500 to start event featuring the very best the North-East as to offer. Will it be an American driver or Canadian chauffeur that will leave with the honours? Be there and find out!
