Patriot Sprint Tour to Invade Fulton this Saturday

Rich Vleck, ROCHESTER, NY (June 6, 2011)- If the finish of this year’s Patriot Sprint Tour event at the Fulton Speedway can be even half as good as the last one there, the fans are in for a real treat.

For the sixth time in series history, the Patriot Sprint Tour (PST) will sanction an event at the high-banked Fulton Speedway; this will be the first time though that an event is co-sanctioned by another series, with the Empire Super Sprints also on board.  With both the PST and ESS running for points, this is sure to be a massive show.

Two seasons ago, Dan Kaszubinski scored his only career PST win as he flipped across the finish line after contact with Bobby Breen off the final corner.  Kaz’s car had to be towed to Victory Lane, a ride that a host of drivers wouldn’t mind having to endure this Saturday if it meant they won the 25-lap A-Main.

Jared Zimbardi enters Fulton as the PST point leader, with Tim Kelly and Don Adamczyk just nine points back.  Original Pizza Logs Four Laps of Fame Dash Series Point Leader Vern Wasson and Scott Kreutter are also within shouting distance of the point lead, making it five drivers in pursuit of their first career championship.

Bryan Howland sits sixth in points and is the only driver in the top-17 of the standings that has ever won at Fulton.  The four-time champion won at the 3/8-mile oval in an ESS-sanctioned event and is itching for his first win of 2011.

Veteran Dave Wickham will be making the short trip to Fulton, while Jeff Frasier, Shayne Ely, Todd Hoddick and Bruce DeWick look to make their first A-main in Oswego County.  Insinger Race Fuels Rookie of the Year Contenders Steve Collins and Jay Groves are also expected to be on hand.

This event will count towards the A-Verdi Storage Containers King of Upstate New York Series which has a host of drivers tied early on due to rainouts.

Gates will swing open this Saturday at 5:00 P.M. with racing action gets underway at 7:00 P.M.  If you can’t make it, you can follow all the action on the Patriot Facebook and Twitter pages or by visiting
