Rich Vleck, CORNWALL, ONTARIO, (August 24, 2014)- Jared Zimbardi only needed to start the 25-lap feature to claim the PST Canada Championship, but he did a lot more than that, dominating the A-Main to celebrate the crown in style with his first career win at the tight ¼-mile.

Zimbardi, of Bradford, PA, took the lead from polesitter Alain Bergeron on lap four and showed strengthen in lapped traffic the rest of the way to claim his second Canadian weekend sweep of the year.  In the five PST Canada events in 2014, “The Juice” scored four wins and a second-place finish.

This is the first PST Canada Championship for the two-time and defending PST America Championship.  Barring anything unforeseen, he is also on pace to claim the USA title as well for a third time this year, a season that has now produced an amazing six PST wins.

Alain Bergeron was able to hang on for his second runner-up finish of the season to secure the second position in the final PST Canada standings.  Lee Ladouceur would drive up to finish third in both the race and the standings.

Four-time Conrwall sprint winner Steve Poirier drove up to fourth after redrawing the eighth starting position.  Rick Wilson scored his best finish at Cornwall since 2005 as he rounded out the top five for the second straight night.

2013 Cornwall winner Jason Barney was sixth, with Michigan’s Dain Naida crossing in seventh.  Mitch Brown was ahead of Wayne Johnson, who rallied to finish ninth after a lap three incident.  Quebec’s Alain Boisvert completed the top 10.

The red flag had to be displayed on lap six when Kyle Fraser’s 01 had a soft flip in turn four.  For more information, visit www.PatriotSprintTour.com.
