Patriot Sprint Tour Travels Along St. Lawrence Saturday and Sunday

Print this.

Rich Vleck, ROCHESTER, NY, (August 20, 2013)- For the last five season, the Patriot Sprint Tour has made an annual weekend trip to Brockville and Cornwall Speedways; for 2013 that weekend has shifted to August and will include two other sanctioning bodies to create even more racing action.

This Saturday and Sunday, the Patriot Sprint Tour Canada Series gets back in to action with a pair of events in Eastern Ontario.  At both events, lead drivers for the Southern Ontario Sprints, as well as the CAOSS Sprints, will be in attendance producing what could be record-breaking car counts.

The PST Canada is now in its second season of having an independent point series and the battle for this year’s championship is reaching epic levels. Inaugural PST Canada Champion Justin Barger has a share of the current point lead with Jamie Collard, who has won the last two PST Canada races.  Steve Poirier is just a single point back of those two while Jason Barney is only four points back.  Drivers like Jared Zimbardi, Glenn Styres, Tommy Wickham and Mitch Brown are also in the mix and are expected this weekend.

With the Southern Ontario Sprints joining in the fun, drivers like Chris Jones, Keith Dempster, Warren Mahney, Bob Crawford, Mike Farrell, Tyler Rand, Brad Lodge and Dick Mahoney are also expected.  Jones currently leads the standings with Jamie Collard only three points back.

The support of the CAOSS Sprints will bring with it drivers like Etienne Girard, Patrick Vigneault and Alain Boisvert.  Steve Poirier has a healthy lead in those standings.

Local favorites will also be a major part of the mix such as Lee Ladouceur, Devin Caron, Jeff Cook, April Wilson, Rick Wilson, Kyle Fraser and Paul Pekkonen.
