The Patriot Sprint Tour has undergone a name change, but one series that will not be changing names is the King of Upstate New York due in large part to A-Verdi Storage Containers.
A-Verdi, based out of Savannah, NY, will return as the title sponsor of the Patriot Sprint Tour’s crown jewel regional series for a fifth consecutive season. Their support will not stop there though, as they will sponsor four “A-Verdi Night at the Races”, sponsor and redesign a facelift of the merchandise trailer, as well as create PST collectables for fans throughout the season.
“I am excited about the new Patriot Sprint Tour and like the direction the series is headed,” declared A-Verdi Co-Owner Joe Verdi. “We have had a great long-term relationship and it is hard to believe that it has been five years, it is monumental. We look forward to many more years working together.”
A-Verdi began their association with the Patriots in 2007 with title sponsorship of what was then known as the King of Central NY Series. The partnership has grown from there to make that series even more lucrative and bring even more fans and employees out to many of those races.
“Joe and Patty have supported my efforts for a long time, going back to the Central New York Mini Sprints, and they continue to become more involved in racing every year,” said PST President Mike Emhof. “I can’t thank them enough for their support; we could not be successful without them. I know the teams appreciate everything they do as well; they have put together a great series that teams want to be a part of.”
The 2011 A-Verdi King of Upstate New York schedule features a record-high 9 events, which will get going in a hurry this season with the first three PST shows all being part of the series. Black Rock will get things started on May 7, followed by trips to series staples Canandaigua and Cayuga County on May 14 and 15. Ransomville Speedway, which was added to the series in 2010 and invoked the name change, will host event four on May 27 before returning to Fulton on June 11. A month later, the series will resume with a return to Black Rock, followed by a pair of events at Rolling Wheels. The King of Upstate NY will be crowned at Black Rock for the second straight year, this year on August 12. The Canandaigua, Ransomville, Rolling Wheels and final Black Rock events have all been dubbed “A-Verdi Night at the Races” which is likely to entail free goodies for fans in attendance
In the four years of what is now the A-Verdi King of Upstate NY, Bryan Howland is the only driver to repeat as King (2008 and 2010). Chuck Hebing (2007) and Bobby Breen (2009) have also adorned the crown on the final night of this lucrative series.
The top-10 drivers in points at the designated events will take a nice slice of the point fund that has grown each of the prior four seasons.
For the third year now, A-Verdi will continue their support of Hot Wings TV, which will once again feature a handful of Patriot shows in 2011. Details on these events and the airdates will be announced in the coming months.
