Original Pizza Logs, the delectable finger food often served in a pack of four that has been a fan-favorite at area tracks for years has become the title sponsor of the Patriot Sprint Tour dashes, which also come in a four pack.
Finger Food Products, of Niagara Falls, NY, has signed on with the Patriot Sprint Tour (PST) to create the Original Pizza Logs Four Laps of Fame Dash Series. Not only will they help to fund the purse for each event, there is now additional money up for grabs in a season-long point fund.
“We are extremely pleased to add Finger Food Products to our family of marketing partners,” declared PST President Mike Emhof. “The Original Pizza Logs brand is a staple in our racing community, most notably with support of our friends at the Original Pizza Logs 600 Sprint Tour.”
Bob Cordova, who started Finger Food Products in 1986, has been a long-time supporter of racing in Upstate New York, and felt the timing was right to get more involved in sprint car racing.
“We are going into the second season of the Original Pizza Logs 600 Sprint Tour and some of the drivers are now moving into the sprint cars,” said Cordova. “Charlie Donk is one of my drivers now in sprints and there are some others on the way.”
In each PST-run event in 2011, the Original Pizza Logs Four Laps of Fame Dash will be held after the qualifying heats to scramble spots nine through 14 for the A-Main. This will be the fourth year that Patriot dashes are conducted under this format and have been a great success thus far.
“The Four Laps of Fame Dash is an important part of the Patriot experience,” added Emhof. “We have seen drivers acquire valuable knowledge with this additional track time, which has helped propel them to the front in the feature. Just as importantly, though, it is a race where many have claimed their first checkered flag and trip to Victory Lane in a sprint car.”
Every dash will award points to each of the competitors in the four lap events towards the 2011 Original Pizza Logs Four Laps of Fame Dash Series Championship, an added chase to keep an eye on throughout the summer.
Original Pizza Logs are now found in 10 varieties, with the Pepperoni & Cheese the most popular. They can be enjoyed across the United States, with their range growing around the world, but can also be found at a host of dirt tracks, many of which the Patriots visit including Ransomville, Canandaigua, Cayuga County, Rolling Wheels and Merrittville Speedways.
“I have always supported racing as a fan, but we can sell some product from it too,” noted Cordova. “Drivers seem to like Original Pizza Logs because the temperature holds up in them so they can grab something to eat in between working on their race car without it getting cold.”
