Patriot Sprint Tour Event at McKean County Moved to August 4th

Rain Pushes Back Long-Awaited Return to Smethport One Week
Rich Vleck, ROCHESTER, NY, (July 28, 2012)- It has been more than six years since the Patriot Sprint Tour has been to the McKean County Raceway; and on the day the return was expected, Mother Nature decided to push it off one week later.
The Patriot Sprint Tour race at McKean County Raceway will now be contested next Saturday, August 4 on the 1/3-mile oval. It had been a tumultuous week in Smethport, PA after heavy storms knocked power out at the track until late Friday Night. Heavy rains late Friday night and into Saturday morning gave the MCR Ownership group no choice but to postpone the night of racing.
Action is heating up on the PST tour with Bryan Howland leading Tim Kelly by just 10 points heading in to the final month of the season. Defending Champion Jared Zimbardi will be the fan favorite at the closest track on tour to his home.
Gates will open Saturday at 5:00 P.M. with racing at 7:00 P.M. Action on the night is presented in part by Zimbardi Electric, Performance Powder Coating, Maynard Electric, Steve’s Auto & Machine and Carbon Fiber Concepts. For more information, visit www.PatriotSprintTour.com.
